Hot
walker - horse walker - horse exerciser
The standard
walker is capable of training between 4 and 8 horses. The minimum
standard diameter is 15m or approx. 50´-0" Smaller diameters
after consultation. Increasing the amount of horses being trained
will also increase the size of the diameter to either 18m approx.
60´-0" or 20m approx. 66´-0" Please ask for
advice if you wish to train more than 8 horses or if you want a
diameter larger than 20m.
The walker has
a direct drive and is computer controlled. The frequency converter
has an emergancy stop. The computer runs 5 programmes which automatically
change direction (2 x 5 programmes) Optional features are a remote
emergancy stop. A signal to indicate the end of a cycle All 5 programmes
run through. (computer will continue for safety reasons)
The walker covered
with a partial roof
will protect the horese from sun and rain allowing to train all
year round. There are two kinds of paddles available
· 1 solid mesh
· 2 hanging bars. The paddles can be hot wired on
request. Connection to US or European electrical system.
Horse
exercisers can be built with or without a roof, but the roof
provides protection from bad weather. The roof keeps exercise
area dry and free of snow while allowing natural lighting,
excellent ventilation and therefore a healthier environment
for your horses.

Steel construction
The top pressure ring at the apex of the roof supports the walker. The construction can be altered to suit higher building regulation, wind forces etc. The diameter of the lunging arena (inner circle) is 4m or 13´smaller than the outer diameter. i.e. a 60´Arena has an inner circle of approx. 47´ . The construction is self supporting, i.e. single span, this allows the open space under the walker to be used as a lunging and training circle. The steel construction is a double I beam hot dipped galvanized construction.
Inner lunging circle fence
The steel frame is filled with solid wooden boards. The inner circle includes a gate with a large steel supporting frame. The inner lunging circle is separated from the circular corridor by a steel galvanized framed fence approx. 1,80m or 6´-0” high.
Outer fencing
To a solid wood sub structure running between the steel girders an inner and outer fencing is nailed. The fencing is approx. 5´-3” high. The rounded off inner fence provides a smooth inner surface, avoiding any accidents.
Roof construction and covering
The sub structure on the steel roof girders is engineered from heavy duty roof purlins. Clean lathed 5“ x 3“ impregnated. ¾” boarding is nailed over the purlins and a final roof covering of tarred sheeting protects the boarding against rain and sun.
